Cristi Giurgi with a new personal record at Spinoasa

Cristi Giurgi managed a very nice flight yesterday at Spinoasa. With good Spring conditions, Cristi climbed his Windtech Tecno wing to no less than 2691 m ASL and covered a distance of 72 km from the Spinoasa to Buhusi near Bacau.

We went to Spinoasa for a thermodynamic fly yesterday, wind was from NW instead of NE as needed, but the place was still flyable thanks to its good thermic potential.

No XC at Spinoasa this time

No XC this time at Spinoasa because the rain has chose to stay in the way right from the beginning of the day.

However the sky has started to clear immediate after I've landed, so I've took off again and continued a total of 5 hours of flying with a small brake for barbeque ;)

First ridge fly at Spinoasa for our beginner pilot "Chiru".

One week later another fly at Spinoasa, we are already in March but winter came back. Snow, -3 Celsius, chilly wind, however Spinoasa is still a good flying place: 2 hours of flying at 40-50 m above hill top with 2-3m/s thermals and 140m maximum altitude.

September 2009, wind NNE 25 km/h, sunny, weak but large thermals. Many pilots have rushed to Spinoasa since the conditions were so promising for flying. Among them there were: Cali, Antonela, Catalin, Andrei, Ionut, Forest, Iulia, Stefan and me.

After soaring the ridge for almost 3 hours and one thermal lost in a corn field, I've caught a nice one and started a beautiful 25 km long fly :)

Paragliding fly at Spinoasa-Iasi Romania

Spinoasa is the lowest flying hill in Iasi county, Romania. However, it is the best hill for paragliding in this region.
I've been flying today at this place with Ovidiu codename Forest and his girlfriend Iulia. Meteo conditions where great so we've enjoyed a wonderful 2 hour fly.
