Red Bull X-Alps 2009 day 11




This morning July 29 at 11:24 AM Christian Maurer has won officially the Red Bull X-Alps 2009 race after 1376 km of flying and hiking and he did this in only 9 days, 23 hours and 54 minutes.
Maurer covered over 190 km yesterday, landed at a beach east of Monaco and hiked Mount Gros at the end of day. The remaining pilots have 48 hours to complete the journey, X-Alps competition will officially close on July 31 at 11:24. The competition prize giving ceremony will take place at Stars'N'Bars in Monaco Friday 31 at 19:30.

While Maurer is busy with interviews for BBC and French TV news, Evgeny Gryaznov, Alex Hofer, Aidan Toase and Honza Rejmanek are rushing to reach Monaco within 48 hour time limit.

Aidan Toase had a bad day being blown out by a strong wind in Chamonix valley near Flegere, the same wind gave troubles to Evgeny. Alex Hofer faces the same problem with strong wind in mountains near Brianco.
